Halloween happenings in Western Wake

Calling all ghouls and goblins!

Here’s a town-by-town look at all the Halloween fun happening this week in Western Wake:


Friday, Oct. 27

Pumpkin Flotilla, 4 to 7 p.m.

At Bond Park Boathouse: Sail your carved pumpkin across the lake!

Herbert’s Haunted House, 7 to 9 p.m.

At Herb Young Community Center: A spooky walk through a house of horrors!

Zombiepalooza, 7 p.m.

At The Cary Theater: 14 local filmmakers’ own zombie films, costume contest and a free screening of “Dawn of the Dead.”

Saturday, Oct. 28

Costume Dance Party, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

At Cary Arts Center: Dress up in your favorite costume, and dance!

Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve, 2 to 8 p.m.

Downtown: Get help carving your pumpkin, then enjoy outdoor showings of favorite Halloween specials.

Harvest Festival, 2 to 6 p.m.

At Academy and West Chatham Streets: Trick-or-treat at local businesses, a petting zoo, plus food trucks.

Herbert’s Haunted House, 7 to 9 p.m.

At Herb Young Community Center: Night two of this house of horrors.

Mall Crawl, 4 to 5:30 p.m.

At Cary Towne Center: Costume up for trick-or-treating, storytelling and a magic show.



Thursday, Oct. 26

Fall Festival, 4 to 8 p.m.

At Park West Village: Hayrides, movie night and costume contest!

Saturday, Oct. 28

Trick or Treat the Trail, 4 to 7 p.m.

At Morrisville Community Park: Costumed characters, bounce houses and trunk or treat.



Saturday, Oct. 28

Goblin’s Groove Family Dance, 7 to 9:30 p.m.

At Halle Cultural Arts Center: Dance and costume contests, games and treats.



Saturday, Oct. 28

HollyFest, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At Sugg Farm Park: Live entertainment, fire trucks, rides and vendors.

Haunted Hayride, 7 p.m. to midnight

At Sugg Farm: Monsters, zombies and scary clowns!



Friday, Oct. 27

Trick or Treat in Downtown, 2 to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 29

Food Truck Rodeo, 1 to 4 p.m.

On Broad Street: Good food, craft beverages, live music and children’s activities.



Saturday, Oct. 28

The Halloween Express, All day

At New Hope Valley Railway: Take the Track or Treat Halloween Express for a spooky, kid-friendly ride!

Sunday, Oct. 29

Fall Fest & Fashion Show, 1 to 4 p.m.

Head to GiGi’s Playhouse Downs Syndrome Achievement Center for Halloween fun and celeb guests!
