Flying Witches, Singing Pumpkins at New Hope Valley Railway

Visit New Hope Valley Railway, the Triangle’s Train, on Saturdays, October 14, 21 and 28, for its traditional Halloween train rides at its rail yard in Bonsal, located 30 minutes from Raleigh.
Track or Treat Halloween Express transports passengers on a spooky, kid-friendly ride. The train’s engineer is dressed as a skeleton and interactive Halloween scenes are set up along the train tracks, including flying witches, large pumpkin faces, Boo and Ghoul Scouts, aliens with laser lights and an updated scene that includes a haunted house and life-like bats and ravens.
Before or after the train ride, there is lots to see and do in the rail yard, including songs by the popular singing pumpkins; a Count Cluckula kids’ game with prizes; a stand-alone caboose featuring a gallery of creepy artwork and Dr. CO2, who creates magical boo bubbles.
The event is family-friendly, but earlier departure times during daylight are recommended for younger children. Each day has five train departure times at 2:45, 4:00, 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m.
Bruster’s Real Ice cream of Apex will be selling cold treats and Chef’s House will have a catered kid-friendly menu. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price.

New Hope Valley Railway, the Triangle’s Train, is a non-profit, 100 percent volunteer-operated tourist railroad that straddles the historic towns of Bonsal and New Hill, North Carolina, located just 30 minutes southwest of Raleigh.
