Happy Hour!

It’s happy hour, at the Bond Park Boathouse!

New this summer, the Town of Cary introduces Happy Hour on weekdays from 2 to 5 p.m., when boat rentals, snow-cones and popcorn are all half price.

There’s more — these same items are also half price during the following promotions days:

Mondays: Scout/Troop Day for those who wear a scout or troop shirt

Tuesdays: Senior Day for visitors 55 & up

Wednesdays: Camp Day for all who wear a 2015 Town of Cary camp T-shirt

Thursdays: Veterans, Active Military and First Responders Day

Fridays: Town of Cary Youth Sports Day for those who wear a 2014-15 league uniform shirt

Kayaks, canoes, rowboats and sailboats can be rented at the boathouse for one-hour increments. Pedal boats can be rented for half-hour increments.

You can register in advance for instructional classes for canoes, kayaks, sailboats and fishing clinics. You can also purchase concessions, and bait and tackle.

“The town’s 42-acre Bond Lake and adjoining boathouse, which are nestled in the 310-acre Bond Park, offer a fun getaway for those looking to spend time relaxing outside,” said Sam Trogdon, senior operations and program supervisor.

“With grills and picnic tables sprinkled on the shoreline and rocking chairs overlooking the lake from the beautiful screened porch, patrons can literally spend a day enjoying Bond Lake and the boathouse and all the related amenities.”

The boathouse is located at 801 High House Road. Daily operations from June 1 through Aug. 25 are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday. For more info, see townofcary.org or call (919) 469-4100.
