Spook-tacular Halloween Events 

In Western and Southern Wake, Halloween celebrations aren’t limited to Oct. 31. Carve out time for some of these spooky town events and get this party startled!

Cary

Mummy & Son Ball
Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6:30-8 p.m.
Ritter Shelter

Enjoy a spooktacular evening at the Mummy & Son Ball ($21/child and guardian pair). Dress in your favorite costumes, dance the Monster Mash, play fun games, roast a ghost over an open fire, and compete for prizes with your own little goblin! Register today!

Zumba® Halloween Party!
Thursday, Oct. 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Bond Park Community Center

Burn some of those candy calories with a Halloween Zumba® Party workout! Costumes are highly encouraged, but not required. $6 for residents, $8 for non-residents. Aged 18+ only. Registration required at myCary.org

Pumpkin Flotilla
Friday, Oct. 27, 4-7 p.m.
Bond Park Boathouse

Bring the family to Bond Park’s Pumpkin Flotilla and watch pumpkins set sail across Bond Park Lake at twilight (approximately 6:30 p.m.). Enter a pumpkin OR dress in your Halloween costume for a discounted boat ride!

The Great Pumpkin Carve
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2-8 p.m.
Downtown Cary (310 S. Academy Street)

Carve pumpkins alongside your community at Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve! Pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch and carve it at a designated station (or try out one of the new water marbling pumpkins)! Pumpkins are for sale, but all other activities are free — including face painting, storytime, drum circles, and an outdoor showing of It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Ghostly Legends at the Old Hotel
Saturday, Oct. 28, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

If you enjoy spooky tales, then this is the event for you! For $20/person, ghostly legends and haunted tales with a bit of mystery are brought to you through a medium’s special connection with the world beyond. Feel the presence of the past at Cary’s old hotel with the help of Cary Players. Ages 12+. Purchase tickets for the 6:30 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. showing on eTix and at the Cary Theater box office.

Witches Night Out

Dust off your broom sticks and pointy hats, and head to Salem Street in Downtown Apex for Witches Night Out! Your favorite spots will be open late with magic potions and spellbinding discounts. Don’t sweep on this year’s Witches Night Out! Mark your calendars now for a night of fun!

Tour of Frights
Through Nov. 1, 6-9 p.m.

Check out the Town of Apex’s Tour of Frights, a resident-recommended twist on the popular Holiday Tour of Lights! The 2023 Tour includes 24 homes and businesses decorated with a fun and spooky variety of Halloween decorations! Click here for a printable map and a printable BINGO card!

Apex Scarecrow Row & Haunted Nature Trail

Visit Apex Community Park’s Scarecrow Row from October 21-31 and check out all the community-decorated scarecrows! Bring a flashlight if you’d like to visit after dark, but note the park closes at 10 p.m.

Goblin’s Groove Family Dance
Saturday, Oct. 28, 5-7 p.m.
Halle Cultural Arts Center

The Annual Apex Goblin’s Groove Family Dance is back! Boogie down to family-friendly music and participate in costume contests, games, dance contests, a haunted art gallery, and Halloween tricks and treats. All youths and teens must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $5 per person, $2 for children 2 and under. Purchase tickets today!

HollyFest
Saturday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park

It might not be Halloween focused, but you are sure to see a ton of costumes and candy at this annual, family-friendly event! Featuring local artists, businesses, food vendors, children’s activities, and local entertainment, this free event is a Holly Springs tradition.

Fuquay-Varina

Trick or Treat Downtown
Friday, Oct. 27, 2-5 p.m.
Downtown Fuquay and Downtown Varina

Parents are invited to dress up their ghosts and goblins, grab a bag, and visit merchants along the Fuquay and Varina retail districts that display the sign, “Trick or Treat Here!” Collect candy and visit with local business owners!
