Hoppin’ Good Times

Whew! That bunny’s been busy.

Grab your basket and go find what’s been hidden, as towns across Western Wake celebrate spring with egg hunts, a candy hop, and even a community yard sale!

Here’s the hop-down:


Saturday, March 19

Breakfast with the Bunny, 8:30 a.m.

The Cary Teen Council hosts its annual Breakfast with the Bunny at 8:30 a.m. at the Kiwanis Shelter in Bond Park. Tickets are $4 for ages 10 and up and $3 for ages 3 to 9; ages 2 and younger are admitted free, but a pass is required. Purchase your tickets in advance at the Herb Young Community Center, 101 Wilkinson Ave.

Easter Egg Hunts, 10 a.m. (ages 10 and younger only) and 1 p.m.

From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., meet KATAL the dragon from Kids Together Park and members of the Cary police and fire departments, enjoy bounce houses, face painting and food trucks.

A magic show will follow each egg hunt, at 10:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., respectively.

Thursday, March 24

Easter Eggstravaganza, 6 p.m.

This event for children 12 and younger who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities will be held at Bond Park’s Field 4, featuring a bounce house, entertainment and the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny!

An egg hunt for ages 5 and younger begins at 6:30 p.m.; an egg hunt for ages 6 to 12 is at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is recommended.



Saturday, March 19

Easter Egg Hunts

New this year in Apex, the 9 a.m. Egg-citing Egg Hunt will be held for children 12 and younger who have disabilities, followed by the town’s annual egg hunt at 10 a.m.

Both take place at Town Campus, 53 Hunter St.

And don’t miss pictures with the Easter Bunny!

Easter Egg Hunts

Meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs filled with goodies and prizes, and enjoy bounce houses and food trucks.

The egg hunt for ages 2 to 4 is at 10 a.m.; ages 5 and 6 at 10:30 a.m.; and ages 7 and 8 at 11 a.m. All hunts will be held at Field #1 at Morrisville Community Park, located at 1520 Morrisville Parkway.



Saturday, March 19

Spring Fling and Community Yard Sale

Shop the Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to noon, then head to Spring Fling for games, inflatables, music and more, 10 a.m. to noon.

And make sure the kids have their baskets, for the egg hunt at high noon! All events take place at Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park.



Saturday, March 19

Easter Egg Hunts

Candy Hop

Three hunts, each for a different age group, happen at 10 a.m., all at South Park in Fuquay-Varina, located at 900 S. Main St. The hunts are for children ages 10 and younger.

Also, the Easter Bunny is eager to pose with kids, so be sure to bring your camera!

Following the egg hunts is the Candy Hop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., when downtown merchants supply candy and goodies to children accompanied by parents

Spring Extravaganza

Enjoy inflatables, crafts, food vendors and entertainment for the whole family at Lake Benson Park in Garner, beginning at 10 a.m. Bring your camera for pictures with the Easter Bunny before the egg hunts, which will start promptly at noon.
