It’s all lights and excitement this weekend in Cary, as the Heart of the Holidays Celebration takes to the streets of downtown.
But in the midst of it all is an opportunity for you to give back to our neighbors in need, by taking part in The Gifting Tree project, a tree decorating contest with a charitable twist!
Here’s how it works:
- Walk around downtown Cary. (That’s easy enough!)
- Take note of the decorated trees on display. (Ooos and Ahhs expected.)
- Vote for your favorite tree. (Again, no rocket science required.)
- The tree receiving the most votes wins a donation to the local nonprofit of the choice of its creators! (Known as the win-win!)
The Gifting Tree project kicks off this Saturday, Dec. 2, along South Academy Street and inside Downtown Park.
Want to do more? Bring a new toy to the Ole Time Winter Festival, which is part of this Saturday’s fun, and it will be donated to The Carying Place!
The Heart of the Holidays Celebration also includes the Page-Walker Holiday Open House, the town’s tree lighting ceremony, a gingerbread house competition, Santa’s workshop and more. Get all the details here.
