Smile! These Photos are for a Good Cause

Say cheese! Activate Good is hosting Photos For Good — a professional photo session benefitting the organization’s mission to connect volunteers with nonprofits —from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at The Loading Dock, 1053 E. Whitaker Mill, Suite 115.

After a year unlike any other, capturing memories and milestones marks a new year of hope and optimism. Book a 20-minute or 50-minute session for family or baby photos, engagement photos, graduation photos, posing-with-pets photos or professional headshots.

Sessions lasting 20 minutes require a minimum $100 donation and include one wardrobe and one backdrop or setting, with participants receiving up to four digital images. Longer, 50-minute sessions require a minimum $250 donation and include up to three wardrobe changes and different backdrops or settings, receiving up to 10 digital images.

A number of professional photographers have volunteered their services for the event, including Kristin Austin of ARAY, a brand photo and design studio; Jen Bauldree of Jen Bauldree Photography; Meredith Cross of Meredith Cross Photography; Austin Dowd of Austin Dowd Photography; Madhan Guna; Kelly Hudgins of Light Creative; Chanel Norman of Chanel Productions; Kevin Seifert of RTP.Studio; and emerging photographer Erin Warner.

Each photographer will either allow participants to select final images on-site, or send a gallery within two weeks of the event for additional time to view and select options. Additional options for purchasing digital and print images will be available from the participating volunteer photographers.

A number of COVID-19 precautions will be followed during the photo sessions. Masks are required at all times except during the active photoshoot (photographer and event volunteers will be masked as well); groups will be socially-distanced from others; hand sanitizer will be placed throughout the space; and weather permitting, outside shooting will be prioritized.

Activate Good’s mission is to improve the community through people-powered projects for good. It connects 540-plus nonprofit organizations to volunteers eager to make a difference in their communities. Activate Good also works to empower the next generation of young volunteers and community leaders through youth and family-friendly volunteer opportunities and Days of Service, a Teen Leadership & Service Club, and other youth service and leadership initiatives.
