Ladies unite, for the inaugural Academy Street Strut!
Come out and strut your stuff on Monday, April 24 in this celebration of women and fitness, and supporting local nonprofits selected by the members of the Cary Women’s Giving Network.
The rules are simple: Strutters must wear a business suit or dress with a jacket, and running shoes, and carry their heels and a briefcase or purse. Men are welcome too, with no heels required!
Strut solo, or put together a relay team. The strut starts and finishes at the Cary Chamber of Commerce on North Academy Street, and all participants will have chip-timed results that will be posted online.
Hosted by nonprofit Fit & Able Productions Inc., which has supported community and family fitness in Cary since 1997 through its events and training programs, the strut is all-inclusive.
The 1-mile Academy Street Strut runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and includes awards and souvenirs. The strut will be followed by a party at the Chamber of Commerce.
Adult registration is $25 through April 23 and $30 on race day; strutters age 17 and younger are $15 and $20 respectively, and children 3 and younger in strollers are $5.
