Trader Joe’s Opening Next Week in Morrisville

Trader Joe’s, a popular neighborhood grocery store, opens its fourth Triangle location next week. The 10,600-square-foot store will open in the former Earth Fare space at Park West Village.

The wait is over! The highly anticipated Trader Joe’s in Morrisville will open its doors next week.

On Friday, Sept. 10, Trader Joe’s will host a grand opening at the new Park West Village location. The store, located at the corner of Morrisville Parkway and Chapel Hill Road, will be the fourth Trader Joe’s in the Raleigh-Durham metro area and the ninth Trader Joe’s in the state.

“We are excited to welcome good corporate citizens like Trader Joe’s to Morrisville. Their commitment to sustainability and diversity and inclusion align with our community values,” said Liz Johnson, Mayor Pro Tem of Morrisville. “I’m looking forward to the grand opening next week and to shop for their unique products right here in Morrisville!”

A buzz started on social media earlier this year when building permits revealed that Trader Joe’s was planning upgrades to the former Earth Fare space at Park West Village. After months of renovations, the 10,600 square-foot store will open. In addition to their traditional upfit, the location will feature colorful artwork that pays tribute to area landmarks and local lore, including Lake Crabtree, the Shiloh Greenway, and North Carolina’s rich history of excellence in aviation.

Trader Joe’s joins the lineup at Park West Village, 100-acre mixed-use shopping center with popular national retailers like Target, TJ Maxx, and Michaels. After 2020 being a tough year for many shops and restaurants, openings like Trader Joe’s and B&B Theatres, the Missouri-based theater group who opened earlier this year, offer a hopeful perspective.

“We are so excited to have Trader Joe’s join Park West Village,” said Shannon Dixon, EVP for CASTO. “The community has been requesting a Trader Joe’s since we started working on Park West over ten years ago, and we are pleased to make the request a reality!”

The grand opening will begin with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Store Captain Rachel Baxter, a 27-year veteran of the company, and the Morrisville Trader Joe’s crew will be on hand to welcome customers to their new neighborhood store, and the celebration will continue throughout the day.
