Lucky 13

The Caring Community Foundation, a Cary-based nonprofit which helps cancer patients in need of financial assistance, will hold its 13th annual Pay It Forward Party fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Renaissance Raleigh Hotel at North Hills.

The evening of dancing, live and silent auctions, food and fun begins with an exclusive champagne reception 6 p.m., followed by the main event at 7 p.m.

The party theme of “Lucky 13” signifies the 13th year for this charity event. Founded in 2001 by Cary resident Jill Wolford, at right, and her family and friends, the Caring Community Foundation has given more than $1.35 million directly to cancer patients for necessities such as rent, utilities and medicine.

CCF’s goal is to help a Triangle cancer patient every day this year: 365 days, 365 patients.

WRAL-TV’s Debra Morgan will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the Lucky 13 Pay It Forward event, which includes heavy hors d’ oeuvres, an open bar with beer and wine, live music by The Soul Psychedelique, dancing, raffles, silent and live auctions.

Event tickets are $75 in advance, or $100 at the door; the Event Ticket Plus is $125 and includes champagne reception and a meet-and-greet with CCF board of directors.

Tickets are available at caringcommunityfoundation.org. All event proceeds benefit Triangle-area cancer patients.
