Summer is here, and in-person events are officially making a comeback. From wine tastings to festivals to movies in the park, big events are back on the calendar, and this weekend is packed with fun!
Here’s the scoop on five local events you don’t want to miss this weekend:
Enjoy the summer weather as you sip and shop at Waverly Place’s Wine Walk. The popular event series returns Thursday, June 24, and visitors can taste samples of red, white, and sparkling wines from Triangle Wine Company at select Waverly Place shops and restaurants. Tickets are $25 and proceeds from the event go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Shop local, check out local breweries, and more this Saturday at Beerfest at Phillips Farms of Cary! Try craft brews from Bond Brothers Beer Company, Brueprint Brewing Company, and Bombshell Beer Company – but if beer isn’t your thing, wine and champagne will be available from Red White & Bubbly. This family-friendly event will also feature live music, food trucks, a cow train for the kiddos, and more.
Take your tastebuds on a trip south of the border at Tacos ‘N Taps this Saturday at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. With more than 15 taco trucks, taquerias, and restaurants and over 30 different types of tacos to try, this festival is perfect for foodies. General admission tickets start at $39 and include samples of beers, mezcals and tequilas.
Grab your special someone and head to Dorothea Dix Park for date night-themed Movies on the Lawn. Enjoy a showing of “50 First Dates” under the stars at Flowers Field this Saturday. Tickets are free, and guests are permitted to bring their own food and beverages.
Don’t miss North Carolina Symphony’s Summerfest this weekend at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Spend a night listening to classical music hits from Mendelssohn, Mozart, and more at Classics Under the Stars. Guests can pre-order food from local restaurants, or purchase food and beverages at the Crescent Café or Cobblestone Courtyard on site. General admission tickets start at $21, and the event starts at 8 p.m.
