Location, location, location — a mantra often repeated during the search for a new home. It’s rare you’ll find an area that fits that philosophy as well as west Cary. “You can be in a metropolitan area but it doesn’t feel like that. You look out and you’ve got a beautiful park right next door. It’s a huge park with big baseball fields and there are natural trees everywhere. The neighborhood and this area has a lot of natural character,” said Jim Cappellett, sales manager for Ryan Homes.

Cappellett is referring to Hilliard Forest, a new home community built by Ryan Homes near the intersection of Green Hope School and Green Level Church Roads. The location feels somewhat rural, with winding roads circling quiet neighborhoods and beautiful Thomas E. Brooks Park across the street. But Cappellett says you’ll never have to leave a five-mile radius to find grocery stores, shopping, schools and any other conveniences you need.

In Hilliard Forest, Ryan Homes offers home plans starting at 2,550 square feet and topping out at more than 6,000 square feet including a finished basement, starting in the low $360,000s. The homes are full of luxury options: gourmet kitchens, coffered ceilings and basements are just a few. But the feature Ryan Homes is most proud of is its ENERGY STAR rating.

“We have a huge emphasis on energy efficiency. We have made the commitment to test every single home to ENERGY STAR standards,” said Cappellett. “We know that it is important to our buyers. It is important to us, so that is a huge foundation for our business.” For perspective, a builder, such as Ryan Homes, that has shown to consistently build to ENERGY STAR compliance is only required to test one in seven homes, according to the Residential Energy Services Network.

ENERGY STAR rated homes are a huge benefit to buyers because they have lower utility costs; tighter, higher quality construction and great resale appeal. “You’ll see a tremendous difference in your heating and cooling bills,” said Cappellett. Especially good news for all of you cooling 6,000 squarefeet this summer.

Customer feedback drives Ryan Homes as the builder strives to provide the best service and products possible. One of thecurrent floor plans underwent revisions and adjustments based on suggestions from customers. “We build hundreds of homes, but our buyers may only ever build one,” said Cappellett. “We want to make sure that we build every home like we’re building our own.”
