A [Green] Thumbs Up for Gardening

If the spring weather has you eager to get outside, now is a great time to spruce up your yard.

“Gardening is definitely a mental health scenario, so being able to deliver essential supplies to people makes it a whole lot easier to weather the storm,” said Keith Ramsey, owner of Garden Supply Company.

Over the years, the Cary business has become the place in Western Wake to find garden supplies, plants of every type and expert landscaping advice. That will remain true for the next few weeks and beyond.

“We’re designated as an essential business because of hardware, gardens, landscapes and agriculture, so we are open for business,” Ramsey said. “We’re also doing twice the delivery business that we were doing.”

Garden Supply is stocked with everything to get your home ready for spring, but staff recommend social distancing and leaving your pets at home during your visit. Mulch, compost and pine straw deliveries are available by calling the store, and you can arrange for plant delivery to your home via email. Expert garden advice is also available over the phone.

To get in the gardening mood, tune into “In the Garden with Keith Ramsey,” a podcast which features Ramsey talking about different topics related to gardening and landscaping. The most recent episode is on container gardening perfect for early spring when the weather is unpredictable.
