Taste the Excitement in Downtown Cary

During the Downtown Dine Around, customers at Maximillians Grill and Wine Bar can choose among fresh vegetarian dishes and other items on a special menu.

Things are heating up in downtown Cary, and you’re invited for a taste of all the excitement!

Over five days, April 25-29, more than 20 restaurants, bakeries and pubs are participating in the first Downtown Dine Around sponsored by the Heart of Cary Association.

Participating establishments are offering specials and unique menus, and it’s not just for dinner! Several establishments will also be open for lunch and brunch. Also, La Farm Bakery, Annelore’s German Bakery and Once in a Blue Moon Bakery invite you to pick up dessert, pastries or a loaf of bread to take home.

“If you haven’t visited downtown Cary in a while, you’ll be surprised at the diverse quality of the restaurants, bars, breweries and bakeries – including many award-winning establishments,” said Margie Hennessee, owner and chef of Maximillians Grill and Wine Bar.

Diners at Maximillians can choose three courses from a fixed menu for $30. Options include pretzel bread pudding, clams and shrimp with mahogany fire noodles, seasonal vegetarian entrees, and a choice of dessert.

Samreen Nawaz, Kababish Café owner, says the Dine Around event is a great way to see the ongoing revitalization of the downtown area and try some new restaurants.

“This event will enable more people to see the emerging variety and diversity of eateries in the area,” she said.

The Maggy-winning Indian-Pakistani fusion café is offering a free onion fritter appetizer or free rice pudding with any entree.

Other participating restaurants include Postmaster, Veranda at the Mayton Inn, Pro’s Epicurean & Café, Woody’s Sports Tavern & Grill, and Bottle Dog Bites & Brew. A complete list of participating bars, breweries and restaurants are available at heartofcary.org.
