Your Lunch Can Help A Hero

Buy a sandwich from area Jersey Mike’s Subs this month, and you can also support Military Missions in Action, a Triangle-based nonprofit for veterans with disabilities and military families.

The fundraiser will culminate on Wednesday, March 27, when 100 percent of the day’s sales will be donated to the Triangle-based nonprofit.

March is the restaurant’s ninth annual Month of Giving, a national fundraising campaign. More than 1,500 locations across the country have raised more than $6 million to support their community.

The Jersey Mike’s fundraiser accounts for roughly a third of MMIA’s annual budget. In 2018, more than $147,000 was donated.

In the Triangle, the 38 participating stores are located in Apex, Cary, Morrisville, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Raleigh, Hillsborough, Garner, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Roxboro, Durham and Knightdale.

Military Missions in Action is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting veterans with disabilities, homeless veterans, members of the armed forces and their families. The primary focus of MMIA is to provide home modification services to veterans with disabilities to allow them to live independently.
