It’s a party, and you’re invited!
Meet people, share ideas and learn how you can be part of the ninth annual Walk to End Lupus Now, at a kickoff party set for Jan. 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Lonerider Brewing Company in Raleigh.
The walk is one of three held by the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina chapter across our state, and one of many walks held nationwide to raise money for lupus research and to increase awareness of this unpredictable autoimmune disease, which has no known cause or cure. Its health effects can range from a skin rash to a heart attack.
You can participate as an individual or with a team for the 1.25-mile walk, which is set for April 23 on the campus of N.C. State University.
Last year, more than 1,200 people gathered for the Walk to End Lupus Now and raised over $67,000 for research and local support services to help the estimated 5,200 people in the Triangle area who are living with lupus.
