… To Fido!

You know you love Fido, but does he know it?

For all the love your faithful pet provides, give him a little something in return this weekend: Fun, at Dog Days of June in Cary!

Whether your pup loves meeting new friends or competing in Frisbee disc, he’ll think Dog Days is the best thing since chew toys and sleeping in your bed.

Don’t have a canine companion? Well, adopt one at this event!

Highlights of Dog Days include the free Skyhoundz Canine Frisbee Disc Competition, a distance and accuracy event open to all dogs regardless of lineage or breed, no experience necessary. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., competition at 10 a.m. For more information, call (919) 469-4100.

Show Fido you love him by protecting him at the rabies vaccines and microchipping clinics from 9 a.m. to noon. Open to cats too, fees per pet are $10 for microchips and $5 for rabies vaccine. All pets must be on a leash or in a kennel. For more info, call Cary Animal Control at (919) 319-4517.

If all this fun makes Fido hot, cool him off with a dog wash-and-dry by members of the Cary Teen Council before you head home. Fees are $5 for small dogs (1 to 10 pounds); $7 for medium dogs (11 to 30 pounds); and $10 for large dogs (31 pounds and up). Friendly dogs only; bring your own towel. For more information, call (919) 460-4965.

At Dog Days you can also check out local dog rescue groups and other vendors, and even adopt a new pet!
