Autumn is taking its sweet time this year, but when it finally arrives, we’ll be ready: Coming up are not one but TWO fall fashion shows, each benefiting area charities.
The Peachy Wears Hope Fall Fashion Carnival will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Cary boutique.
A portion of ticket sales, all proceeds from silent auction purchases, and 10 percent of purchases made during the evening will all go to the Headbands of Hope Prom, for Duke Children’s Hospital.
Also, when you buy an item from local nonprofit Headbands of Hope, another headband will be donated to a child with cancer.
Models will show off the hottest upcoming fall fashions, and guests will enjoy swag bags, a silent auction and raffles.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m., with specialty cocktails, wine, and local craft beer. Heavy carnival bites to be served include popcorn, fried chicken and sweets topped with powdered sugar.
Tickets are $20, available at thepeachykeen.com.
Next, on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m., check out the third annual Red Shoe Affair & Fashion Show, hosted by the Western Wake Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Spotlighting local fashion designer Mabel Dunn Johnson of Silk Fashions Runway Entertainment, the event also raises money for college scholarships for students in the chapter’s service area of Garner, Holly Springs, Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Morrisville and Apex.
The show will take place at the Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh, beginning at 5 p.m. with a pre-dinner reception, raffles, vendor village, and silent auction including sports memorabilia from Kobe Bryant, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Luke Keuchly of the Carolina Panthers.
