Spread the Dream

He had a dream, and you can share in it.

The Town of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, the Town of Cary Spruce Program and the MLK, Jr. Task Force of Cary partner to bring MLK, Jr. Dreamfest 2013.

The main Dreamfest celebration will be held this Saturday, but events run from Friday through Feb. 9.

Saturday’s event, beginning at 3 at the Cary Arts Center, will feature a video presentation and discussion of the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Cary High School. A reception and musical tribute to King follow.

On Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Spruce program will coordinate volunteers to beautify the area around Middle Creek Community Center, to support King's message of comunity service.

Other Dreamfest events include a Women of Action gathering, transportation to Raleigh’s 32nd Annual MLK, Jr. Commemorative March and others.
