Spa for You, or Spa for Two

Services and amenities are better than ever at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, and a new focus on couples’ spa treatments could help you create the local getaway of your dreams.

Following a three-month renovation program, the award-winning Umstead Spa reopened on Monday, July 8, with expanded facilities meant to elevate every aspect of the spa experience.

“All aspects of the spa experience will be heightened, from state-of-the-art equipment to new relaxation areas in a variety of beautiful indoor and outdoor settings,” said spa director Carolyn Doe.

“Our ultimate goal is to provide personalized, world-class spa experiences that suit the wellness needs of all of our guests, and cater to the growing number of couples who seek the opportunity to enjoy intimate spa time together.”

Voted Best Spa by Cary Magazine readers in our Best of Western Wake Maggy Awards, the Umstead Spa is already a favorite of locals.

Now even more noteworthy, the spa features natural elements of river rock, granite, bamboo and glass integrated throughout its expanded space. Filling 16,000 square feet over two floors, the spa also boasts new textiles, locally-crafted pottery and artwork enhancing its design.

Especially for couples are three dedicated treatment rooms, each with a private deep-soaking tub, a new co-ed relaxation lounge, and an open-roof co-ed current pool with 12-foot-high privacy walls that frame the blue sky above.

Spa guests (who spend more than $100 on treatment) will now also have weekday access to The Umstead Hotel’s swimming pool and fitness center, which were previously open only to overnight guests of the hotel.

The Umstead Hotel and Spa is a recipient of both the AAA Five Diamond award and Forbes Five Star rating.
