Get your house in tip-top shape for summer, de-clutter and send your unused goods to the Cary V.F.W. Thrift Store, at 522 Reedy Creek Road. The thrift store benefits veterans, along with those serving in the Armed Forces and their families.

Check the store’s website for items not accepted. Note the thrift store is closed Sunday through Tuesday.

Consider volunteering your time to Military Missions in Action, the Fuquay-Varina-based charity that helps veterans and wounded service members modify their homes to remain independent after being injured in the line of duty.

MMIA also sends care packages to troops overseas, supports those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and so much more.

Volunteers of all types are needed.
