Here’s a twist on Mothers’ Day giving: Take action on behalf of moms and kids living in shelters.
Movers for Moms is an annual campaign by moving company Two Men and a Truck, to collect donations to be delivered to local women’s and family shelters on Mother’s Day.
“Making a difference in the local North Carolina communities we serve is integral to Two Men and a Truck Triangle. Movers for Moms is our way to show appreciation for the efforts of area mothers who may be facing challenging circumstances,” said Brooke Wilson, franchise co-owner. “Through Movers for Moms we want to help bring joy to mothers on their special day.”
In the Triangle, donations collected will benefit moms in need at shelters including InterAct and the Durham Rescue Mission.
Bring new and gently-used women's and children's clothing, books, electronics, kitchenware, furniture, linens, rugs, small appliances, toys, kid’s art supplies and home décor.
Or, donate new household items such as disinfecting wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, kitchen-size trash bags, facial tissue, sets of towels and microwave-safe plates and bowls.
Donations can be made at any Two Men and a Truck location or at Angelz Funtime Nursery in Morrisville, Kindercare Learning Center in Cary, and Little Pros Academy locations in Morrisville, Cary and Holly Springs.
The Movers for Moms campaign kicked off in 2011 and last year collected and delivered more than 220,000 items on Mother’s Day for women’s and family shelters across the country.
