Here are two ways to work a holiday-themed give-back:
The Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex presents Gingerbread Dreams, the eighth annual Christmas tree and wreath exhibition and auction benefiting the Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Wreaths and trees are submitted by Apex businesses, individuals and organizations.
An opening reception for the exhibition happens this Friday night at 6, in conjunction with the town’s Christmas on Salem Street, and the show runs through Dec. 21.
The Halle, located at 237 N. Salem St., is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. thehalle.org
Next up is the Holly Jolly Jog benefiting new local nonprofit Fill Your Bucket List Foundation, happening on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. The foundation grants wishes to adult cancer patients.
The inaugural Holly Jolly Jog will be held in Chapel Hill’s Southern Village and include a one-mile dash, a 5K fun run, auction, tree lighting, music and food.
