Eat, Drink & Give Back

Wow. Western Wake is indeed a give-back community.

Check out these five options for give-back fun happening here in the coming week.

Do one or do all — they benefit good causes!

Sips for Solar

Saturday, Aug. 20

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

100 Ferncroft Court, Cary, in the Landsdowne subdivision

Buy a cup of lemonade and you’ll be helping little kids raise money to add solar panels to the roof of their church, as part of its Caring for Creation campaign.

Free Fitness for Teachers

Sunday, Aug. 21 through Saturday, Aug. 27

As a thank-you to area teachers, Orangetheory Fitness studios are offering them two free classes. Local studios are in Holly Springs and Morrisville.

Not a teacher? Donate school supplies, and you can receive one free class.

Family Haircuts

Sunday, Aug. 21

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Twisted Scizzors Salon, 2751 N.C. 55, Cary

The whole family is welcome as Twisted Scizzors hosts this cut-a-thon to benefit Bob’s Buddies, which helps families dealing with pediatric brain tumors.

Meet the Bob and the Showgram crew from noon to 2 p.m.

Mmm, Pizza

Tuesday, Aug. 23

11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mellow Mushroom, 4300 NW Cary Parkway, Cary

Order up a pizza, let your server know you’re supporting Western Wake Crisis Ministry, and 10 percent of your purchase will be donated to WWCM.

Wine Walk

Friday, Aug. 26

5 to 8 p.m.

Waverly Place, 2001 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary

For a $10 donation to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, you’ll receive a sampling glass and passport to stroll the shops and enjoy samplings and special promos.
