Cool Indoor Fun

No doubt about it, it’s been a rainy summer, punctuated by bouts of muggy heat. So what’s a family to do for fun, without breaking the bank?

Check out the library!

For books, of course, but so much more. In addition to weekly story times for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and families, and various book clubs, here’s a sampling of more free fun available at area libraries.

Stones N’ Bones: Saturday, July 20, Noon. Dig into dirt and fossils — cool! Register school-age children via the website or by calling the library. 

Papermaking: Tuesday, July 23, 6:30 p.m. Kids in grades 6-10 will learn how to make decorative paper by hand. Supplies are provided, but bring flower petals, seeds, glitter etc. to personalize your paper! Registration needed.

It's a Tea Party! Thursday, July 25, 2 p.m. Celebrate Cary as historians from the Page-Walker Arts & History Center discuss the town's founding families and early culture. Bring your favorite teacup and saucer! Registration required.
