Memorial Day weekend signals the official kickoff of the summer movies, and B&B Theatres is ready to welcome you back.

After a devastating year for movie theaters across the country, B&B Theatres has reopened Park West 14 in Morrisville. The Park West Village location may be their first theater in North Carolina, but B&B is no stranger to the cinema.

“We’re new to Morrisville, but in terms of our experience and our presence in the industry, we’ve been around a long time,” said Paul Farnsworth, director of public relations at B&B.

The Missouri-based theater group was founded in 1924 by the Bills and Bagby families. Fast forward nearly 100 years, and B&B is now the sixth-largest theater chain in the country with over 50 locations and hundreds of screens.

The Park West 14 recently reopened under new ownership.

Looking for new opportunities, B&B acquired Park West 14, formerly owned by Stone Theatres, and is now eyeing the future.

“We love the synergy happening in the Park West Village development,” said Farnsworth. “There’s a lot of great businesses here, and we wanted to work with people like us: committed to innovation, family fun, and operating with integrity.”

With recent acquisitions and theater openings, B&B has experienced a great amount of growth in the last few years. However, they are committed to staying true to their family-owned small business roots.

“We want people to come in and feel like they’re in their hometown theater,” said Farnsworth. “They’re not just a face in the crowd at B&B. We know them, and we want them to come back.”

B&B Theatres are offering summer discounts including one for kids movies.

Movie lovers can join the free Backstage Pass loyalty program and enjoy special deals, and every Tuesday is Treat Yourself Tuesday with discounts on tickets and concessions. Future plans include partnerships with local charities, premiere events and photo ops, and special flashback series and summer kid shows.

This weekend marks the start of summer blockbuster releases, including “Quiet Place II” and “Cruella.” With a goal to provide excellent customer service and create magical entertainment experiences, B&B is committed to bringing the best to Morrisville.

“We’re excited about the future of this location,” said Farnsworth. “It’s pretty exciting, and it feels good to be back at the movies.”

I think we speak for a lot of people when we say we’re excited, too.
