A Family Affair

Feb. 18, 2012
Meg Williams and David Consolino

David Consolino proposed to Meg Williams at the summit of a mountain hike, beginning a whirlwind engagement of only four months — a length almost unheard of in current planning timelines. The couple was determined to secure a date at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Raleigh — where Meg’s parents were married and Meg herself was baptized and grew up — and Feb. 18 was one of only two available dates for the entire year.

With the help of a willing team of vendors and the blessing of mild North Carolina winters, the wedding went off without a hitch. “I couldn’t believe the weather in February. It was nice enough to be outside. It was really amazing,” said Meg.

To continue the nod to tradition, the bride wore her mother’s floor-length, lace-trimmed veil to complement her lace gown.

“We were very fortunate; we had great people. Everyone that we selected made our lives so easy,” said Meg of the pros who created her dream wedding.
