A group of local Italian American organizations and individuals are planning the first Italian street festival in Raleigh on October 7. We have arranged with the city to close off Tucker Street between Glenwood Avenue and S. Boylan. This will serve as a fundraiser for a local charity, Spare Some for Autism (https://www.facebook.com/Spare-Some-for-Autism-53620427084/).

We have booked several vendors including food trucks and will have entertainment. We also have a number of sponsors committed.

For the last few years, Governors McCrory and Cooper have proclaimed October as Italian American Heritage Month in NC, and we’ve invited Gov. Cooper to make the 2018 proclamation at this event. We expect a large turnout.
