Join in a celebration of Cary’s sister city, County Meath, Ireland with an outstanding line-up of traditional Irish musicians and dancers headlined by Aoife Clancy. Join us for an evening of songs, stories and tunes with fiddles, pipes and more, all in the Celtic tradition. Tickets available at the Cary Theater or online at e-tix.com.

Aoife Clancy (pronounced “Eefa”) comes from Co Tipperary, Ireland, where her musical career began at an early age. Her father Bobby Clancy of the legendary Clancy Brothers, placed a guitar in her hands at age ten, and by age fourteen she was playing with her father in nearby folk Clubs and festivals. Since these early beginnings Aoife has become a recognized artist in her own right. She has been a featured soloist with orchestras such as the Boston Pops and Cincinnati Pops and -while touring with Cherish the Ladies-collaborated with the Boston Pops on their Grammy nominated Celtic album. In addition, Aoife has three solo projects under her belt as well as various recordings with Cherish the Ladies under RCA Victor.

Aoife has taught Irish song workshops at the Swannanoa Celtic week as well as the Catskills Irish Arts week in NY. Aoife also toured with cousins Robbie O’Connell and Donal Clancy as the Clancy Legacy for four years and was a member of the band “The Jammin Divas”. She now resides in the mountains of NC and continues to perform solo and with her partner Bill Elliott as part of Celtic duo Celtic Confusion. www.celtic-confusion.com.
