SAAP translates the flavors of Chef Lon Bounsanga’s Laotian heritage into a polished downtown Cary setting on the ground floor of The Walker overlooking the new Downtown Cary Park. The 70-seat, family-run dining room earned Cary Magazine’s 2024 Maggy Award for Best New Restaurant, thanks to its bright ambiance, floor-to-ceiling windows, and warmly attentive service.
Guests build meals from shareable small plates such as Ginger Chicken Satay with sweet peanut chili sauce, charcoal-kissed Lao Herb Sausage, and Chargrilled BBQ Pork Skewers before moving to noodle and curry favorites. Midday lunch service runs Thursday through Sunday, while dinner is served Tuesday through Sunday with dishes like caramelized Pad Lao noodles and Green Curry Seafood sourced from Locals Seafood.
Craft cocktails including the rum-based Ube Colada and mezcal-spiked Mekong River Rush share the spotlight with zero-proof sippers, a full bar, and thoughtful wine selections. Diners can reserve the 10-seat private room, linger on the 16-seat patio facing the park, or order online for takeout, with reservations strongly encouraged for peak evenings.
