SAFEChild

Website: http://www.safechildnc.org

About:

SAFEchild’s mission is to eliminate child abuse in Wake County by helping adults and children create nurturing environments free from abuse and neglect. SAFEchild is the only child abuse prevention agency in Wake County working directly with families.

SAFEchild offers parent education and support services to families to prevent abuse and neglect, and changes the long-term effects of abuse if it has occurred.

SAFEchild, an acronym for Stop Abuse For Every child, supports families with a wide range of needs. The goal for each family turning to SAFEchild is the same: To build a stronger family and create a healthy, nurturing environment which allows children to thrive.

We’d also love to add that we’re active on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and would love more followers!

Volunteer Opportunities:

SAFEchild offers meaningful volunteer opportunities for English and Spanish speakers. Program volunteers are trained to mentor new mothers, lead children’s groups while parents attend class, or present the Funny Tummy Feelings program to first grade students in Wake County schools.

Volunteers also are needed to provide administrative support, participate in the SAFEchild Speaker’s Bureau, and help with special events.
