Lucy Daniels Center

The Lucy Daniels Center helps children live emotionally healthy lives through in-depth evaluation and treatment, family involvement and education. We are the largest children's mental health agency in the Triangle, serving more than 650 children annually. We are also home to Lucy Daniels School - an elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based school for children with emotional health challenges.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The Lucy Daniels Center is a dynamic community of children, parents, teachers, clinical professionals, community supporters and many other friends. Our busy programs and ever-expanding community outreach efforts mean that there’s always something that needs to be done! We’re so appreciative of the donations of time and talent made by our many Center volunteers. In everything from spreading mulch, assisting in our teaching garden, our spring Bookmarked! festival or our fall Expressions event, to setting up our new library and delivering Lucy’s Book Club materials to our partners, volunteers have contributed so much to our success. Thank you!

Contribution to the Lucy Daniels Center will help us continue to provide high-quality mental health services to children and families in the Triangle. Approximately 90% of our families receive some sort of financial assistance for our services, 1 in 6 receive serve for free. To donate, please visit
