Sport Horse National Horse Show
Sep 5, 2017 - Sep 10, 2017
The Sport Horse National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show is returning to Raleigh September 5-10, 2017 with opportunities for families and children of all ages to learn more about the Arabian horse through the Total Arabian Interaction and Learning (T.A.I.L.) Program.
The T.A.I.L. Tour gives adults and children the opportunity to learn more about the Arabian breed from educated guides. The tour aims to create a welcoming experience at the show and encourage people to learn more and enjoy the breed.
By participating in the T.A.I.L. Program, visitors will first be greeted by a friendly T.A.I.L. guide. Then, participants will receive a “T.A.I.L.” bag filled with information about the T.A.I.L. program and Arabian horses. The bags will also include coloring pages (Parts of the Horse sheets), and various other educational materials. Everyone will have a chance to watch the show, see the behind-the-scenes action at friendly barns, and even get to meet a gracious Arabian horse or two!
Plus, take a walk through a historical mini exhibit of the history of the Arabian horse and Sport Horse Nationals where you can learn the history of the Arabian horse and Sport Horse Nationals.
The tours are free of charge and will be available on Thursday, September 7 at 4 p.m.; Friday, September 8 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and Saturday, September 9 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Contact AHA at youth@arabianhorses.org or at 303-597-8251 to schedule a time and date to join a tour.
T.A.I.L. is designed to introduce newcomers to the Arabian horse in a comfortable and backstage setting. Raleigh families, youth groups, 4-H and FFA groups, Girl/Boy Scouts, and day campers are welcome to contact the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) to make a reservation for a T.A.I.L. tour at the 2017 Sport Horse Nationals.
