Afternoon Movie to Benefit Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation

Sep 28, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Cary Newcomers Club has selected the Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation as their 2017-2018 designated charity. The group has a fundraising goal of $3,500 and they have a variety of efforts planned including this “Cary Gives Back” afternoon movie scheduled for September 28.

Join us to view “Columbus” at The Cary Theater, 122 E. Chatham St., in downtown Cary on Thursday, Sept. 28 beginning at 2 p.m. In this 2017 indie-romance-comedy, a Korean-born man finds himself stuck in Columbus, Ohio, where his architect father is in a coma. The man meets a young woman who wants to stay in Columbus with her mother, a recovering addict, instead of pursuing her own dreams. “Columbus” balances the clean lines of architecture against the messiness of love, with tenderly moving results.

Tickets are available at the door, for $5 each. As part of the Cary Gives Back program, 40 percent of ticket sales will go to the Cary Newcomers’ Club Charity Committee’s 2017-18 designated charity the Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation.
