This is not a group of drawings of beach umbrellas and sand pails left in the sand by tourists, but rather my attempt, with twenty-five drawings, to tell a story of a special group of people I feel a special attachment to, who live in small communities in Carteret County beginning at Bettie and extending east all the way to Cedar Island. In every picture I’ll demonstrate a realistic style of art that I hope will invite you to feel the history of this area and its hardworking people and to become a part of each drawing as you spend the time to enjoy and feel the meaning and simple beauty of each piece.
