Friday, October 27

Pumpkin Flotilla with Bands, Bites, & Boats
Fred G. Bond Metro Park Boathouse, 4-7 p.m.
Bring your carved pumpkin and watch it set sail across Bond Lake at twilight. Enjoy a discounted boat rental, too. Cousins Maine Lobster and Stuft food trucks will be on site while Justin Runyon performs. For more, visit Pumpkin Flotilla 

Herbert’s Haunted House
Herbert C. Young Community Center, 7-9 p.m. | $2 per person
The Cary Teen Council will take you on a spooky walk through their house of horrors. Those who dare will navigate through the building to experience all of the thrills that Cary’s teens have dreamed-up to get your adrenaline rushing! The Cary Theater’s ZOMBIEPALOOZA!
The Cary Theater, 7 p.m.
We’re excited to bring you the 2nd annual Zombiepalooza, featuring 14 local filmmakers’ own zombie films, a costume contest and a free screening of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead—sure to scare the pants right off of you!  All films will be shown outside on Chatham Street, just in front of the theater. Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve
Downtown Park, 2-8 p.m.
Join us for Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve! Stop by the Pumpkin Patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve at one of the carving stations or bring your own. Pumpkins will be lit for display and judged in a variety of categories. Stay for family friendly Halloween specials shown outdoors, including “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”! Harvest Festival
Academy and West Chatham Streets | 2-6 p.m.
The Heart of Cary Association hosts its annual Harvest Festival in Downtown Cary along Academy and West Chatham Streets. Admission to all events is free. Family-friendly activities include trick-or-treating at local businesses, a petting zoo with a “kissing” selfie llama, cookie decorating, local musicians, pumpkin carving with the Town of Cary and face painting. The festival will also host a variety of street vendors, featuring local arts and crafts, food trucks, and a beer and wine garden. A portion of the festival’s vendor fees and money contributed by attendees will be donated to the Viequeslove Fund to benefit hurricane victims in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Ghost Walk in Downtown Cary – SOLD OUT

Spooky stories and ghostly legends sure to send chills up your spine are dramatized by Cary Players. These macabre walking tours of historic Downtown Cary are offered at three different times for your convenience. For more, call (919) 460-4963. 

Halloween Mall Crawl
Cary Towne Center, 4-5:30 p.m.
Calling all goblins, ghosts, princesses, superheroes, and everything in between!  Dress in your best Halloween costume and join us for an afternoon of trick-or-treating, storytelling, and a magic show. Sam Billingsley will perform a magic show suitable for children age 5 and older that everyone will enjoy. Claire Ramsey will tell fun interactive Halloween tales that may be a little spooky, but not too scary for all ages. And, the Cary Police Department will be there with their child ID machine. As a reminder, the Town of Cary does not regulate whether or when Halloween is recognized; most families in Cary go door-to-door in costumes for candy and fun on October 31, regardless of the day of the week. Residents should check with their neighborhood to verify dates and times.
