Expand Your Horizons

Looking for a fun, rich and worldly opportunity for not just you, but the whole family too?

Then attending the second annual East Meets West Food Festival this Saturday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Town Hall Drive in Morrisville, might be the solution to your search.

Gather yourself and your family for a day filled with culture while Wake County’s most diverse community is celebrated.

“It’s the same format as last year, but hopefully this year the sun will shine!” said Carolotta Ungaro, president of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce. “Last year, even due to rain, the turnout ended up being about 700 to 800 people. This year, being our second year, I’m hoping for in the thousands.”

The celebration will entail a day of food and entertainment from all around the world in addition to many other fun activities for the younger ones.

Types of food expected will include Asian, Indian, Vietnamese, Southern dishes and many more. The food will be provided by numerous and varying local restaurants.

While there, don’t forget to vote for your favorite dish in the “Feast of the East/Best of the West” competition!

Entertainment will include live music and performances of Americana, Asian, Indian and more cultures on two stages.

Come out to enjoy and support local dance groups, musicians and bands that will be performing. The performance schedule is provided below.

There are many fun and interactive activities for children, as well.

Kids will have opportunities for face painting, playing in the bounce house, collecting stickers and stamps and using the Forget-Me-Not photo booth.

Admission to the festival is free, while food and beverages will be available via ticket sales. The price per ticket is $1.
