Make It Quick

The outdoor fun continues this Thursday night, June 14, in Garner, with the second show of the Music off Main Downtown Concert Series, featuring crowd favorite Jim Quick & Coastline.

Nearly 1,000 people attended the season’s first concert, featuring the Band of Oz.

Now, with a dozen albums and years of touring to his credit, Garner welcomes Jim Quick, nine-time recipient of the Carolina Music Awards Entertainer of the Year Award.

The Coastline band, known for playing the “music of the South” with influences of country, blues, soul, beach and Southern rock, also features percussionist Sam Bryant; guitarist Casey Meyer; bassist Albert Rogers; and keyboardist and saxophonist Glen Tippet.

The Music off Main concert series is held on the back lawn of the Garner Performing Arts Center from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Chairs and blankets are welcome, with food and beverage vendors on site including Moe’s , Carolina Coney Hot Dogs and Pelican Snoballs. No coolers allowed.

New to the series this year is Art off Main, an art market featuring local artists and creative professionals displaying and selling their works.

Parking is available at the Performing Arts Center main entrance at 742 W. Garner Road, and throughout the Avery Street campus at 125 Avery St.

Upcoming concerts in the Music off Main series are Spare Change on June 28; Brickhouse on Aug. 16; and Hip Pocket on Sept. 13.
