I want to vote for TAP, the Triangle Aphasia Project. It has been a fantastic resource for those who have had or are dealing with aphasia: an individual is cognitively fine, but his or her’s ability to “say” words has been affected usually by a stroke. The founder, Maura Silverman, has worked tirelessly to bring this population assistance in a myriad of ways. You might think this is primarily a senior issue, but, in reality, individuals from young teenagers to elderly have been touched by this debilitating condition. There are classes to encourage and challenge every person. Please start a category for those organizations that do such valuable work in our community.
