The Magic of Patinas

Feb 1, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

A patina is a thin layer of color that develops on metal after it is exposed to heat, air and/or acids over time.

The artist, Jackie MacLeod, uses copper and brass as her canvas, and explores a variety of old and new techniques to emulate that exposure and transform the metals to paintings and wall hangings full of color and character.

What would you rather be: the shiny new unblemished metal or the tarnished and beautifully aged one with character?

To find out more you are invited to the artist reception:
Friday, February 1 2019 from
6-8 pm
at the Bond Park Community Center
150 Metro Park Drive
Cary, North Carolina 27513

Exhibition on view Wednesday, January 2–Thursday, February 28
