The 20th annual Play with the Pros is right around the corner! On Saturday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m., this concert will kick off the North Carolina Symphony’s Summerfest Concert Series. This unique event offers area musicians the opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra in a setting unmatched anywhere in the state.

Orchestral parts open to the community include Violin I and II, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion

The Play with the Pros 2017 Program will include:

• Giuseppe Verdi’s Overture to Nabucco
  • Jean Sibelius’s Finlandia, Opus 26, No. 7

Play with the Pros Registration:
To register, email sarah.preston@townofcary.org for the appropriate forms. The deadline to register is Friday, March 31 at 5 p.m.

Play with the Pros Selection Process:
We will hold a lottery to select this year’s Play with the Pros citizens on Monday, April 3. Those selected will be notified by April 7.

Once Selected:
Participation is FREE for all Cary residents. There is a $5 non-refundable fee for non-Cary residents due at the time selected participants pick up their music. Participants will be required to pick up information packets at the Cary Arts Center front desk located at 101 Dry Avenue in downtown Cary. These information packets will include details about the concert and sheet music. A rehearsal will be scheduled the morning of the concert; however; participants are still expected to practice on their own. Further details will be emailed to participants following the lottery selections.
