Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Carolina Ballet will perform a world premiere, “Love in the Times of the Day,” on select days between January 31-February 17. After visiting an art gallery in Prague, Artistic Director Robert Weiss, was inspired to bring Mucha’s paintings to life through ballet. Working with a specially commissioned score by J. Mark Scearce (a NC State professor of art + design in music), composed expressly for renowned pianist, William Wolfram, this is a ballet for lovers just in time for Valentine’s Day. The program will also feature Time Gallery, Weiss’ collaboration with Pulitzer Prize-winning New York based composer Paul Moravec.
