Lizzie Borden of Fall River
Oct 20, 2017 - Oct 22, 2017
“Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks,” or did she? Experience one of the original true-crime ‘whodunits’ performed by local teens in Applause! Cary Youth Theatre’s production of Lizzie Borden of Fall River October 20-22 at the Cary Arts Center. Featuring characters adept at hiding the truth, and encouraging audiences to come to their own conclusions, the thriller runs Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 22 at 3 p.m.
Lizzie Borden of Fall River is a dramatization of the 1893 court case in which Lizzie, an intelligent, confident woman and model citizen, becomes the key suspect in the brutal murder of her father and stepmother. Rather than highlight the actual crime, Tim Kelly’s script focuses on events leading up to and after the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Borden.
