Here Not There: An Evening of Travel Insights, Culinary Delights, and North Carolina Treasures
October 20 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
$30 – $65Join us for an engaging evening of conversation as author and travel expert Andrew Nelson teams up with Visit North Carolina Marketing Director Scott Peacock to share ideas for discovering outstanding locales around the globe. Andrew is a two-time winner of the prestigious Lowell Thomas Award for Travel Writing and his latest book, Here Not There, has just been published this year by National Geographic. He explores what he calls “counterintuitive travel destinations.” Drawing from this work, Andrew will highlight his favorite off-the-beaten-path recommendations, including some hidden gems right here in North Carolina.
Enjoy bites inspired by both national and international destinations, including Hawaii, Greece, France, and Italy, crafted by Chef Steven Greene and his team. The Umstead’s sommeliers have chosen a thoughtfully curated selection of wines from these regions to accompany the international fare.
This event promises an intriguing blend of travel insights. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or simply curious about new experiences, you won’t want to miss it.
Get ready to discover North Carolina and beyond like never before. This Event will be held on Sunday, October 20th from 4-6 PM in the Salon. Tickets are $65 per person and Andrew will also be on hand to personalize copies of his book, which will be available for purchase separately for $30. Reserve this experience by phone 919 447 4050 or Open Table.
A portion of this event’s proceeds will be donated to relief organizations in Western North Carolina to support Hurricane Helene victims.
