The Sigma Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in partnership with the IBM Research Triangle Park Black Business Resource Group will be hosting a “FREE” hands on College Admission Process Workshop. This workshop will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 9am to noon at the IBM Recreation Center located at 3039 Cornwallis Road in Durham, NC.

The workshop will focus on helping high school students prepare for college. In addition to the presentations from college recruiters there will be stations to provide assistance in the areas of creating a digital portfolio, researching colleges & universities, completing & submitting applications, writing essay & personal statement, creating & reviewing resume, researching scholarships & financial aid, completing FAFSA, and step-by-step admissions process. Students will also be provided a package containing information on what needs to be done prior to the senior year to prepare for college and helpful college preparatory links.
