Cross-Triangle Greenway Ride

Jun 8, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Triangle-area cycling enthusiasts can celebrate the East Coast Greenway’s most complete metropolitan stretch by joining the Cross-Triangle Greenway Ride on Saturday, June 8.

Featuring a scenic, recreational ride from Durham through Cary to Raleigh – all on protected greenways – the event will feature 40-mile and 25-mile options for cyclists of all ability levels and a finishing celebration at the newly opened Transfer Co. Food Hall in downtown Raleigh.

Online registration is now open with special early-bird pricing – $30 for the 25-mile ride and $40 for the 40-mile ride – through Friday, May 10 at greenway.org/crosstriangleride.

Rest stops hosted by East Coast Greenway partners at the City of Durham, the Town of Cary and WakeUP WakeCounty will keep cyclists fueled throughout the ride until reaching the finish at Transfer Co. Food Hall.

The 40-mile option starts at 9 a.m. at SouthPoint Crossing Trailhead and the 25-mile option starts at 11 a.m. at Bond Park.

With the recent opening of the White Oak Greenway in Cary, which connects to the American Tobacco Trail, cyclists, walkers and runners can now travel from downtown Durham to downtown Raleigh entirely on protected greenway trails. This event celebrates the Triangle’s extensive greenway system, with the East Coast Greenway serving as a spine route, and the Town of Cary’s 40th anniversary celebration of its greenway network.
