Cary Players Present: The Mousetrap
Mar 31, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - Apr 9, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
Cary Players presents Agatha Christie’s longest-running play to the Triangle with the company’s final show of the season. The Mousetrap has been playing non-stop in London’s West End since 1952. Complete with a twist ending that theatre-goers agree to keep secret, Cary Players’ production will wow audiences this spring.
Directed by Tim Wiest, the cast includes some of the Triangle’s most well-loved actors. Trapped in a boardinghouse during a snowstorm, a group of strangers — each with secrets to keep — is stalked by a killer among them. Whose secrets are deep enough to kill for? Come and find out for yourself!
The cast features Gus Allen and Rhonda Lemon as newly-minted boardinghouse operators. Their mysterious (and dangerous?) guests are played by Benoit D. Sabourin, Laura Arwood, Michael Parker, Noelle Barnard Azarelo, and Brook North. Because no Agatha Christie mystery is complete without the crime-solving hero, Christian O’Neal is on hand to represent the fabled Scotland Yard.
Audiences will be awed by the set designed by Jon Dietz. As family heirlooms often go, the house is grand and shabby all at once. Rachel Mckay’s costume design recalls the late 1940s perfectly, as does the props design by Cary Players newcomer M’Lea Peak. All evoke a sense of time and place that is both nostalgic and suspenseful. When presented with the challenge of a blizzard in the Spring, Liz Droessler masterfully delivers with her stunning lighting design. Sound designer Bob Kulow brings the BBC to Cary, NC.
The Mousetrap runs from March 31 through April 9, 2017. Friday and Saturday show times are 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows begin at 3 p.m. Please note that there is a special Thursday performance on April 6 at 7:30 pm. All performances are at The Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave, Cary, NC.
