Aware Senior Care and Waltonwood Lake Boone are pleased to announce a book reading with Aiken, South Carolina-based speaker and author Sandra Savell. Sandra will share wisdom, funny stories and practical tips for caregivers who love people with Alzheimer’s and dementia from her new book, “Dear Clueless: A Daughter’s Journey Through Alzheimer’s Caregiving.”

The book details the story of a decade of caregiving as her mother progressed from forgetfulness, to not recognizing her daughter, and, eventually passing away from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Even though Sandra had already experienced the deaths of her father, maternal grandmother, aunt and cousin from Alzheimer’s, it was the day-to-day caregiving of her mother, Helen, that prompted her to write this book. After ten years of caregiving, she realized that she was totally clueless when she began caring for her mother, and she wanted to write a book to help others in their journey.
