Dancin’ in the Streets

TONIGHT! The lively and popular Band of Oz kicks off the 2012 Music off Main Downtown Concert Series in Garner, from 6 to 9 p.m.

One of the best known and most successful beach music bands in the Southeast, the Band of Oz was formed in 1967, playing across the South. In 1977, the band hit the road full-time, gaining a following that had led to the group performing as a guest on most of the major beach concerts in the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia.

Featuring a full horn section, the eight-member group performs more than 200 shows each year.

Music off Main is held on the back lawn of the Garner Performing Arts Center, located at 125 Avery St. in Garner. A new addition to the concert series this year allows local artists and creative professionals to display and sell their works, supporting the performing and visual arts in Garner.

Admission and parking are free. Bring your chairs or blankets; no coolers are permitted.Food and beverage vendors will be on site.

Parking is available at the Performing Arts Center main entrance at 742 W. Garner Road and throughout the Avery Street campus at 125 Avery St.
