Event benefits new Children’s Hospital

Step out to see the season’s hottest styles, all for a good cause: It’s the Spring 2010 Fashion Show!

Featuring dozens of designer looks for men and women from Saks Fifth Avenue, the event is set for Thursday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Saks in Triangle Town Center.

The fashion show benefits WakeMed Foundation’s Just for Kids Kampaign, raising funds for WakeMed Children’s Hospital, which opens in May.

Modeling the fashions, from daytime to evening wear, will be members of Models For Charity, a local organization that hosts and participates in fundraisers for Triangle charities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Models For Charity to benefit WakeMed’s Just for Kids Kampaign, to raise funds for the new Children’s Hospital,” said Cara Fratto, Saks Fifth Avenue marketing director. “It’s important for our children to have the services they need for proper pediatric care.”

Enjoy an evening of wine and hors d’oeuvres, with a silent auction offering jewelry, spa packages, bed and breakfast stays and more.

“Attendees of the fashion show will also enjoy 15 percent off any purchases that night, with 5 percent of all sales during the evening benefiting WakeMed Children’s Hospital,” Fratto said.

Foundation staff will be on hand to answer questions about the new hospital, and medical director Dr. Mark Piehl will offer remarks.

A public grand opening for WakeMed Children’s Hospital, located on the WakeMed Raleigh campus, will be held May 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. The hospital features a pediatric intensive care unit, a Level IV intensive care nursery and private inpatient rooms, and offers a wide range of pediatric services.

Advance tickets to the Spring 2010 Fashion Show are $45 each, or $60 day of event. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit ModelsForCharityRaleigh.com or call (919) 834-6199.
